Angelina Jolie Gives Free Tattoos to Refugees for Christmas

COSTA RICA – Crusading artistes Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt swooped into Costa Rica on Christmas day to visit the People’s Tattoo Clinic, which the do-gooding couple is quietly helping to finance.

The swellegant Ms. Jolie, easily the UN’s hottest goodwill ambassador (no offense to Nicole Kidman intended), caused quite the stir at the Christmas party at the clinic, which is run by Colombian refugees living in Costa Rica.

Angie and the eternally boyishly Brad weren’t in town simply for an exotic photo op, however. OK, so they did pose with some of the most adorable little Colombian refugee tots this side of a milk carton. Who could resist ’em? But after the last shutter had stuttered to a stop, the Golden Couple rolled up their sleeves and pitched in, helping to register the displaced Colombians living in Costa Rica who fell by for a free tattoo and a chance to rub elbows with Hollywood royalty.

An obviously moved Jolie told reporters: “I know how much comfort and strength I derive from my tattoos, and it pains me to think these people should be denied that source of strength. Nobody—not even the victims of a forty-year conflict that has displaced millions of people—should be denied the basic freedom of expression and personal authenticity that tattoos provide.

“My Christmas message to Colombian refugees and to the millions of displaced people in Colombia is this: Brad, Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, and I are with you in tattoos and in spirit.”
